Courier compliments

Courier’s effort and hard work deserve recognition and appreciation. I designed a series of animated compliments that can be selected by users to express gratitude to their courier. You can find and interact with these animations on Uber Eats app.

The concept for the compliment badge begins with a static image, which then animates with a “burst” effect when the user selects it. Drawing on my experience with motion design, I aimed to create a delightful experience that encourages users to show appreciation for hard-working couriers.

Each badge design started with detailed storyboards. Before animating, we went through design reviews to ensure the visuals and storytelling were clearly aligned with the context. These badges are implemented as Lottie animations within the product. I worked closely with engineers to test the motion, ensuring that the animations run smoothly without delays and integrate seamlessly with user interactions.
